MUST SEE - Christmas at Duke of York Square 2013

Christmas at Duke of York Square 2013

A Christmas Light Switch on, a Camel Procession and a Free Santa’s Grotto Celebrate Christmas in the heart of Chelsea 9th November 24th December 2013

The magic of Christmas is set to sparkle in Chelsea on Saturday the 9th November, with a festive celebration like no other. The free event begins at 3pm with an exciting range of activities for both children and families to enjoy. Head to the arts & crafts marquee for free family-friendly activities, brave the cold to catch a glimpse of Chelsea’s real-life camels or pop down to Santa’s Christmas Grotto from 6pm to meet the season’s most popular individual in the flesh.

Mr. Claus will be meeting little ones, telling stories, and giving away Christmas sweets to all who visit his cosy workshop. Visitors can make sure Santa remembers their wish list by posting letters in the magical Christmas post- box situated at Duke of York Square. A musical backdrop to the evening will be provided by the Sloane Square Choral Society.

For the second year running, one lucky child will have the chance to be part of the magic and help turn on the Christmas lights that spectacularly illuminate the square from 5.15pm. The focal point of this beautiful display will be the striking Chelsea Christmas tree in the heart of the square, along with a troop of real-life camels leading the switch-on procession from the top of the King’s Road, down to the square.

Duke of York Square is delighted to announce that this year’s festive events will be in support of the Princes Foundation for Children & the Arts, who will be helping with many of the fun arts activities on the day. So head on down and start this season with a festive bang and a magical evening your loved ones will never forget.

The Christmas Grotto will be open on weekends from 9th November and every day from 1st December until 24th December. Places are limited and advanced booking is recommended. The booking form can be found at www.dukeofyorksquare.com and is open from 1st October.
