ZAGLIANI FALL WINTER 2013

An Art Déco mood permeates the Zagliani Fall Winter 2013 collection that brims with the polished elegance inspired by the Milanese women in the Twenties and Thirties. An attitude updated to modern effect with graphic and sleek shapes, precious materials often featuring innovative translucent treatments and bold metal details.

Here and there, a gleam of Eighties flash via silver and gold coatings and a smattering of Swarovski crystals.

Besides new versions of Zagliani’s iconic and bestselling styles – the Puffy and the Tomodachi – the collection introduces three new statement shapes - the Gatsby, a rigid frame top handle bag with winged sides; Romeo, a small rectangular shoulder bag with a metal clasp and top handle; Giulietta, a smaller and more squared version. As always, each bag is entirely made by hand in Zagliani’s Milan Atelier. All three models are served up in transversal variations for multi-occasion agendas that require a standout bag from dawn to dusk.

The premium selection of textures, materials and colour combinations include glossy or matte crocodile on the traditional side counterpointed on the novelty front by a camouflage pony skin, a hand-painted version of the motif on python and an abstract “giraffe” pattern.

Boldly elegant, instead, are the versions featuring a contrasting band running down the front in either white or gold matched to black, midnight blue, blush pink or grey that wink to the Eighties.

Equally precious and ultra contemporary is the degradè crocodile in blurry tones of raspberry and Bordeaux or blush pink and cocoa brown – so urban chic.

Studs, instead, shed their tough edge when applied onto a chalky pink Gatsby, each one covered by hand with the same skin used for the bag to create a dapper tonal effect.

High shine steals the spotlight for after dark moments with silver or bronze clutches and baby versions of the Gatsby, intricately embellished with clear Swarovski crystals that create a 3-D effect.
