LWLies are proud to announce a joint creative collaboration with Italian fashion label 55DSL and award-winning directors CANADA.
55DSL has been pioneering original Italian streetwear since 1994. Uniting fashion and creativity, the brand produces aesthetically stunning and unique collections through the versatile use of inspired graphics.
Early in 2012, 55DSL commissioned CANADA to produce ‘Beyond Mountains, More Mountains’, a short film detailing an Italian road-trip. Shot over two weeks, the film travels from the mountains in Northern Italy down to the Sicilian Island of Stromboli in the far south. It’s a snapshot of a land and a generation that lives to look good.
“We like to see foreigners interpreting what Italy means to them,” explains Andrea Rosso, creative director of 55DSL. “We are always ready to explore collaboration. It‘s what keeps us inspired.”
‘Beyond Mountains, More Mountains’ premiered at LWLies HQ in Shoreditch, and inspired art director Paul Willoughby to respond to the film’s stylistic motifs with six t-shirt designs realised in a variety of mediums – from woodcut to pen and ink.
