LANVIN 'BARBARA' JEWELS

Lanvin ‘BARBARA’ Jewels

A celebration of Alber Elbaz’s 10-year anniversary at the helm of Lanvin, the accessories collection for Fall/Winter 2012 expresses the modernity of the house’s emblematic codes and a certain couture-style refinement in the fabrics, colours and finishing details.

Jewels offer a series of flamboyant themes. “Barbara”, as seen in the final looks of the FW12 show, is a homage to American billionaire Barbara Hutton, who owned a sumptuous collection of finery in the 1920s.

Outsize gems and stones replay the shape of royal jewels as necklaces, bracelets, earrings and even belts. Sapphires, rubies and emeralds surrounded by diamonds are reinvented in XXL versions set on plaques of smoked plexi glass, which adds a touch of modernity while also changing the shade of the stones.

The Barbara Jewels will be available at Lanvin boutiques and www.lanvin.com  from August 2012.
