About CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund

The Council of Fashion Designers and Vogue created an endowment to support the next generation of American fashion designers. After meeting eligibility requirements, designer applicants are narrowed to a group of 100 who then submit additional materials. From this group, 10 finalists are interviewed and make a presentation of 5 looks to the selection committee who also make studio visits.

The award recipient and 2 runners up receive a monetary award along with business mentoring from an established fashion industry professional.

As a sponsor, J.Crew works with the 3 winning designers on a specialty capsule collection to be sold on jcrew.com, in stores and in catalog. This gives the designers exposure to J.Crew’s worldwide customer base and access to the brand’s established internal capabilities.
