Topshop has announced the launch of the first capsule collection with Mary Katrantzou for SS12. The nine-piece collection focuses on Mary's trademark vibrant prints and elements of structure. These prints are then collaged together and engineered around the female form into different shapes including the designer’s signature porcelain bowl-inspired skirted party dresses (pictured above), tailored trousers, and easy-to-wear pieces such as leggings, a T-shirt and a tunic dress. The collection will launch into nine stores from 17 February, priced between £40 and £350.
“It's very exciting to work with Topshop for our third range together. They've been so supportive of my work from the very beginning and this range will be the most ambitious one we've done and the most fun! My idea behind the collaboration was to design for the Topshop girl a range that is as close to the aesthetic of my mainline as possible, with great control over the quality of design and production.”
